Name Origin
Flint is hard, finely grained quartz. Flint rock is sometimes regarded as a lifesaving tool, since its ability to spark when struck by steel can be utilized for lighting fires. The Japanese equivalent is probably referring to the mammoths that populated the planet in ancient times.
